Da Capo provides integrated therapeutic care and education to children who have complex special needs.
Children who come to Da Capo are given the opportunity to 'go back to the beginning and start over again' as often as they need.
We have a “no exclusions, no rejections” policy.
Rather than exclude or reject a child if they act out their distress, resentment and anger we will ‘start again’ – letting them repeat key experiences and lessons as often as is necessary for them to move on.
Every aspect of our therapeutic community is planned in order to ensure that we can contain challenging behaviour in a safe, caring and therapeutic manner.
Intensive and flexible staffing is provided within domestic scale (3 bedded) houses/ schools.
Therapeutic care staff and teachers work collaboratively to meet the child's whole needs in a programme tailored to each individual child.
Both houses are dual registered as a children’s home and an independent boarding school for children with Special Educational Needs (behavioural, emotional and social difficulties).
Many, but not all, of our pupils are looked after by local authorities. We have considerable experience of working with corporate parents and carers as well as parents and families.
